Trustee Roles

As a Trustee Volunteer you can play a very important role in strategically overseeing management and administration of the organisation.

Our Trustees ensure that Advocacy Matters has a clear strategy and that our work and goals are in line with our vision.

Our Trustee board come from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences and are able to provide support to our Chief Executive Officer and the wider team and get involved in any aspect related to the running of the Charity.  They meet every 2 months and engage in different tasks within the organisation related to their skills and experience.

Being a Trustee can be very rewarding. As a Trustee you have the chance to support and shape the work and strategic direction of our organisation, and you can make a significant difference to a cause that matters to you.

We will give you full training and support.  You will need to provide an application, 2 references and undertake a DBS (criminal record
check) that we pay for.

Advocacy Matters

Advocacy Matters

Advocacy Matters is a charity which has provided independent advocacy support in Birmingham and Walsall since 2002.  We provide Independent Advocacy support to over 1000 adults at risk or whom require a service in Birmingham and Walsall every year.

Advocacy Matters provides both statutory and community-based advocacy projects. Advocates are independent of the Local Authority, NHS and other services. Advocacy from Advocacy Matters is free at the point of access for people who need to use our service.

They empower their advocacy partners, ensuring that they have a say in their lives and about the issues that matter to them.  Advocacy supports inclusion and social justice and aim to provide adults at risk with an independent advocate to ensure individuals are heard & their rights, concerns & needs are acted upon.
