Retail Volunteer (Bescot Retail Park, Walsall)Acorns Children's Hospice provides specialist palliative care for babies, children, and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, and their families.

For ages 14+

As a Shop Volunteer with us, you will be:

Engaging with customers

Accepting and sorting donated stock

Pricing donations for sale

Working on the till

Our shop is open Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm - Saturdays 9am to 7pm & Sundays 10am to 4pm. You can volunteer the hours that suit you, but it would be great if you could support in the shop for at least 3 hours a week.

For this role, you'll need to:

Be welcoming and friendly

Be a team player that thinks of others

Be sensitive to the needs of our customers/donators

Acorns Children's Hospice aim to make every day a special day for children who spend time with us at a hospice.

Caring for a child with complex medical needs can place unimaginable demands on a family, both physically and emotionally. At Acorns Children’s Hospice, we understand that when time is short every moment is precious, which is why, as well as providing specialist palliative care, we help families to make lasting memories. 

We provide a happy homely environment where children can experience all kinds of great activities, meet new friends, or relax and enjoy some quiet time. Our experienced, skilled staff take time to understand each child’s individual requirements, listening to any concerns and adapting activities according to their needs.
