Adult VolunteersWalsall Sea Cadets are currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join them as Instructors or as part of the Unit Management Team (UMT). No experience is needed and there are free training courses available for you to develop new skills, boost your CV and support you in this role. These tasks can also be divided between volunteers, so why not come along with a friend and share the experience?
Role details and requirements

We actively promote flexible volunteering so that you can commit as much or as little time as you're able to, to fit around your other personal and work commitments. The instructor role is in person, attending parade nights and training courses as and when required. The trustee role is a little bit more flexible and can mostly be done remotely and at a time convenient to you.
UMT role would include:
• Support the UMT chair to manage a safe, effective, and successful sea cadet unit.
• Support the UMT in ensuring all unit activities and matters comply with appropriate regulations and Marine Society and Sea Cadet (MSSC) policies.
• Support the unit’s fundraising efforts.
• Ensuring that all young people and instructors at the unit are engaged in fun and safe activities.
• Attend a regular UMT meeting – usually one hour, monthly or bi-monthly, on a weekday evening.
The tasks of an Instructor include but are not restricted to the following:
• Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of Children and Young People for whom they are responsible.
• Delivering instruction and training to adults and cadets of the Sea Cadets
• Attending Parade Nights or being able to commit to a particular night each week or month.

For UMT:
• Desirable: to have trustee/governance experience (but not essential)
