The Early Help service aims to provide key training to support multi agency professionals in their everyday work with families, including those families in need of Early Help services. The training offer is regularly under review through our locality working panels and meetings and we welcome your comments and feedback.
Walsall Way of Parenting Solihull Approach Foundation 2 day training
Who is the training for?
This is an evidence-based intervention aimed at multi agency, community or voluntary care professionals who regularly work with parents and carers.
What is the time commitment?
2 days full day session, must attend both days.
What will I learn?
The Solihull Approach can offer you a way of thinking about your work with families that brings together a thoughtful psychodynamic approach, with practical child development and behavioural approaches. It can be helpful in many aspects of your work with families that includes the antenatal and postnatal periods, early intervention, parenting, and working with children and families with behavioural and emotional difficulties. Once you are trained in the Approach you will also be able to choose to move onto parenting practitioner training to deliver parenting groups, and training around using the approach in responses to trauma and attachment issues for parent and children.

There is no charge for Voluntary sectors for those working with children and young people within Walsall.
Charges would only apply for non-attendance.
