Volunteers week is fast approaching and we want to hear what YOU are doing to celebrate your volunteers.
There are several ways you can recognise the fantastic jobs that your volunteers do.
You can have an outing, put on a social event, give out awards or certificates of recognition, or hold a taster session for perspective volunteers. Volunteers week is also an excellent opportunity to recruit prospective volunteers or launch new volunteering projects. Whatever it is you are going to do, please get in touch so that we can share the news.
There are three themed days to this year to volunteer’s week:
Employee Supported Volunteering – Tuesday 4th June
Maybe you are a volunteer and you were first introduced to volunteering through an employee supported scheme. Perhaps you are a business, and you are looking to start an employee-based volunteering, but don’t know where to start? Or maybe you’re already a business and you want to tell us more about your experience of volunteering?
Youth Volunteering – Wednesday 5th June
Are you a young person who is passionate about the volunteering you do? If so,tell us!! We would love to share what it is you do, and what makes it brilliant.
The Big Difference – Thursday 6th June
What difference has volunteering made to you personally? Volunteering should be mutually beneficial, and just as important as the volunteer doing something special to support an organisation or special cause. The volunteer themselves is likely to have a story to tell about what this experience means to them. We would love to hear about it!
Volunteers Week runs annually, from 1st to 7th June. You can find out more about it here. It is a fantastic opportunity to highlight the wonderful work being done across the community, and the difference it is making. We want to share the impact, experience and stories of volunteers – but we need YOU to help us make that happen.
