The Haven Wolverhampton is a local charity established in 1973 dedicated to providing high-quality, personalised support to women and children who are homeless, experiencing domestic violence and young girls who may be homeless for various reasons such as family breakdown. Service Delivery Manager (Refuge/Accommodation Based Services)
£33,000 – £35,000 pro rata
30 hours per week
The Service Delivery Manager will oversee the management of refuge and accommodation services. You will ensure that refuge and accommodation services provide a safe and secure environment for women and children escaping domestic violence, abuse and/or homelessness. You will ensure that services are managed in line with The Haven’s policies and procedures and comply with housing legislation, quality standards and requirements of funders and Housing Associations.
You will also need to ensure robust safeguarding measure are in place and implemented. The job involves working closely with staff who support abused women and their children in crisis and involves direct line management of staff and the Helpline. It is critical that the post holder works closely with the Service Delivery Manager (Support Services) to maintain a high level of support across all service areas.
The post holder will be member of the Senior Management Team and will be required to participate in senior management and board meetings and contribute to new developments by working closely with the Business Development Manager. The post holder will report directly to the Chief Executive.
To be successful in this role you will have experience of managing Refuge and/or support accommodation, sensitively assessing and reporting to the needs and risks of women and children experiencing domestic violence, abuse and/or homelessness, experience of current legislation affecting the rights of service users and proven experience of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
You will have experience of managing individuals and teams and experience of coaching and developing individuals as well also managing your own development and demonstrable experience of recognising and rewarding good performance and tackling poor performance. You will have experience of working in the voluntary sector and an understanding of the importance of volunteers and placement support in accommodation based services.
In addition you will have experience and competency in innovating and creative thinking, team working, being results focused and strategic thinking. You will be comfortable preparing and presenting reports to the Senior Management Team and others.
