The Haven Wolverhampton established in 1973 provides safe, temporary accommodation for women and children who are homeless for reasons such as Domestic Violence and who seek emergency accommodation. Out of Hours Family Support Worker
£19,890 pro rata per annum
37.5 hours per week
The Out of Hours Family Support Worker will provide out of hours cover on a rota system in The Haven Wolverhampton’s Emergency 24 Hour Refuge Accommodation. This includes evenings, nights (sleep in) and weekends. You will take a whole family approach to providing immediate and ongoing support within accommodation services for women, children and young people escaping from Violence and Abuse. You will ensure a safe and secure environment through Personal Support Planning and respond appropriately to the needs of the women and children, enabling them to make informed choices leading to resettlement.
You will have experience of working with women within a refuge setting and completing assessment tools. You will have knowledge of the support needs and support planning of women and children experiencing violence abuse along with knowledge of legal, statutory, regulatory and good practice requirements applicable to the provision of supported housing. Excellent communication skills and a demonstrate ability to be able to work effectively and supportively as part of a team are requirements of the role.
