The Haven Wolverhampton established in 1973 to provide both practical and emotional support services to women and children who are affected by domestic violence, homelessness and abuse. Applications are invited for the following post, from those who have a strong commitment to working with women and children.
£18,200 per annum pro rata

As an evening worker you will work within the Accommodation team to support with the delivery of a recovery focused and strengths-based approach for women who are survivors of domestic abuse or homelessness and may have complex support needs relating to substance use, mental health, physical Health and offending behaviour.
With support from the Specialist case managers, you will complement the work carried out by Domestic Abuse Key Workers, providing night time, evening and weekend support to women and their children who are living in our Refuge Accommodation as a result of experiencing domestic abuse and homelessness.
You will work proactively to support clients to reduce risk, develop safety plans, and improve financial, physical and emotional wellbeing. You will support women to improve life skills to develop and manage relationships, build social networks and access education, training or employment and move towards independent living.
As part of your role you will support women who are contacting the helpline for crisis support, accommodation and advice. You will be required to take referrals provide the necessary support.
This is an opportunity for a proactive, motivated individual with excellent communication skills to support the accommodation team in the delivery of a high quality service ensuring that you provide safety and security for the well-being of the client group.
As part of your role you will ensure the refuge is kept well maintained and on a day to day basis report health and safety issues which may arise.
An awareness of Adult and Child safeguarding legislation as well as knowledge of the welfare and benefits systems would be preferable for this post.
