The Haven Wolverhampton is a local charity established in 1973 dedicated to providing high-quality, personalised support to women and children who are homeless, experiencing domestic violence and young girls who may be homeless for various reasons such as family breakdown. Domestic Violence Intervention Programme
£21,500 per annum
37.5 hours per week
Temporary 2 year contract starting 1 September 2017
We are recruiting a Domestic Violence Intervention Programme (DVIP) Support Worker to deliver support to women whose partners are engaged with a Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programme (DVPP) in Wolverhampton. The Support Worker will provide a needs led support programme for women and their children, and ensure the women are engaged in the programme and have access to the support they require. Working in partnership with the providers of the DVPP (Mytime) you will ensure victim safety needs are met.
We are looking for someone who has a minimum of two years’ experience of providing support to women and children with diverse and complex needs including domestic violence. With experience of safety planning, multi – agency working, and working within safeguarding guidelines to protect and promote the wellbeing of children. You will have an appropriate qualification in relation to family studies, domestic violence, legal, social work, Safe Lives IDVA/ISVA or Women’s Aid DAPA. Professional management and good safe judgement is essential along with the ability to undertake risk assessments and safety planning and the ability to establish effective engagement of women who are affected by domestic violence.
