The Haven Wolverhampton is a local charity established in 1973 dedicated to providing high-quality, personalised support to women and children who are homeless, experiencing domestic violence and young girls who may be homeless for various reasons such as family breakdown. Children and Young People Support Worker 9 – 16yrs
£19,095 pro rata
25 hours per week

As a Children and Young People Support Worker you will lead on the provision of targeted therapeutic support to Children and Young People and families using the ‘Change that Lasts’ model to deliver support and change that is effective for all the vulnerable Children and Young People according to their individual need. You will plan and deliver quality sessions within a safe environment, ensuring adequate supervision, for children and young people affected by domestic violence. You will help develop Children and Young People centred services, utilising agencies within the community to contribute to the wellbeing of the child or young person.
To be successful in either of these roles you will hold a recognised therapeutic qualification and a qualification in working with Children and Young People, have considerable experience engaging with Children and Young People who are vulnerable and hard to reach and have sound knowledge in group and one to one therapeutic interventions and be qualified to deliver a varied range of therapeutic and tailored interventions that is designed for various age groups and family sessions within The Haven’s services. You will have experience in using a variety of assessment tools to measure the differences made in the Child or Young Person’s journey in line with The Haven’s data and Children In Need project outcomes.
In addition, you will have experience and competency in supporting staff, volunteers and social work students in setting up additional services beneficial to Children and Young People’s needs in a residential setting. You will lead on the preparation of reports case studies and data information in line with Children In Need project outcomes and work plan. You will also have the ability to use own initiatives and lead on service provision for Children and Young People.
Ideally you will have knowledge and experience of partnership working with key organisation (Health, Education and Social Care, Safeguarding, Early Help Arrangements) in particular domestic abuse and homelessness. You will have sound knowledge of service available in the City of Wolverhampton to support the holistic needs of vulnerable Children and Young People.
