One Walsall is an independent charity supporting other voluntary, community and social enterprises in Walsall.
We help not-for-profit organisations start, grow and sustain their activities and work with all types of groups including community volunteers, faith-based organisations, registered charities and social enterprises. We’re in touch with over 800 organisations active across Walsall delivering a huge range of activities.
We know many local businesses want to support their community, but the hardest part can be knowing what’s out there and the type of help they might need. We’ve set up Sector Connector to help the community know what businesses have to offer, and to help businesses know what community organisations are looking for.
What are the benefits for businesses?
Employee-based volunteering not only helps to support both national and local charities to fulfill your aims, it also offers a mutual benefit to the business directly. One-off team volunteering can help with team-building skills, doing DIY tasks or environmental clean-ups.
Delivering skills-based workshops can enhance skills development opportunities for employees in designing and delivering training. Employee-based volunteering has also shown to help with the retention of staff, by businesses being able to create a positive employee moral through their commitment to do good within their own communities.
The opportunities are endless.
What are the benefits for charities/local groups?
Having volunteering opportunities for businesses to undertake can help build connections, with access to extra manpower to complete large one-off volunteering jobs when needed.
Community-based employee volunteering also helps to keep volunteering support local, where local businesses support local charities, who support local community projects.
