Olivia’s Closet was established following an increase in vulnerable people living in poverty.
We have many years experience supporting vulnerable people in the community and wanted to re-establish support networks which have reduced over the years. We are a voluntary project who provide good quality, second hand clothes, shoes and accessories, ( underwear and socks provided are bought new by us due to hygiene issues) for younger people age 13+ and vulnerable adults throughout the Black country.
We provide women’s clothes sizes 8-30 and men’s clothes small – 3XL.
This is a free service, reliant on donations from the public which we collect, wash and sort prior to them being gifted.
We request professionals refer to us by email with only minimal details required to protect the confidentiality of service users. We require only the gender, type and size of clothes required. We will then drop off the gift direct to the refer or can be collected from us if preferred.
We collaborate with other local charities/community projects to source furniture which we deliver (size permitting). This is not stored at our base so can take longer to source.
In emergency circumstances where usual avenues to access foodbanks have been exhausted we also have a basic food package which can be provided.
Despite commencing this service in January 2020 we have already supported, 16 individuals and families. We have also been able to support 8 local charities/organisations with clothing/food donations to aid their work in the community. This includes providing clothing to 60 adults who attend a local soup kitchen.
