Domestic Violence Workshop – Community Vision West Midlands CIC
Date: SATURDAY 14th April 10.30-4pm
Venue: The Rock New Testament Church, George Street West , B18 7HF
COMMUNITY VISION Victim Support Service brings to you this Specialist DOMESTIC VIOLENCE Workshop for women of African Caribbean Heritage who are victims/survivors of Domestic Violence.
This full day workshop is facilitated by professionally trained therapists, Clancy Williams (Angels Without Wings) and Jacqueline Marlow.
Domestic violence is perpetrated across all races, class, social, gender, political and age divides, but is there a difference to how the African Caribbean Woman experiences and recovers from Domestic Violence?
Using the spirit of SANKOFA we are providing women with a safe and confidential space where they can explore issues, get specialist support and learn new skills to enable them to better cope and recover from the impact of Domestic Violence.
Art and Drama Therapy will be used to enable African Caribbean women to safely and creatively explore the complex escalation of Domestic Violence within the community.
This workshop is funded by West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner. Refreshments and lunch is provided. There is no fee for attending but a £30 cancelation fee will be payable for none attendance of confirmed bookings.
Places are limited and by booking only. To book your place please email email@example.com
This workshop feeds into our NEW specialist Domestic Violence programme that will be launched this year at the forthcoming Visible Relevant Woman Conference.
