Autumn Training Schedule 2017
Pack your satchels with pens, pencils and paper and get yourself to One Walsall’s Autumn training. We have a variety of really useful topics in venues across Walsall Borough.
Whether you are writing a application for £200 or £200,000 this session shows the best ways to frame your case for funding – giving you the best chance at success. The session is delivered by trainers who have written many successful bids in their own right and helped many groups gain funding for every kind of project imaginable. We will cover;
- Where to find funding.
- What do the funders want from you.
- How to show the need for your project.
- How to state your outcomes clearly (very important in today’s funding world).
The Charity Governance Code
From financial crises to personnel problems, from risk management to strategy-setting, effective governance is central to steering charities through the everyday challenges that they face. It is a difficult and important job so having the right skills is vital. This three hour session will give an overview to the CGC which has been designed by a not-for-profit steering group with the help of over 200 charities, individuals and related organizations.
The CGC sets out the principles and recommended practice for good governance – giving a framework that committees and trustees can work to and to support them in their work of guiding their organization to sustainability and success.
In the last fifty years the way we communicate with each other has changed dramatically. From have the choice of a phone call or letter we have added the added choices of email, texting, social media, video calling and more. The way in which organizations talk to our clients and other stakeholders has changed but most small community and voluntary groups have not moved with the times. In this session we will provide;
- An introduction to digital marketing.
- An overview of the different marketing channels and tools.
- A way to create a digital marketing plan.
This session is aimed towards those who know very little or nothing at all and will explain clearly how using modern tools can help your organization.
A one hour workshop to learn how to prepare for the new General Data Protection Regulation, making sure your organisation is confident about how to gather, keep and dispose of the personal information you keep on your clients and service users. New rules are to be brought in in May next year, so make sure you understand the impact and how to adapt to the new legislation.
